Assam Police Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 635 Posts
The Assam Police Recruitment 2026 offers 635 vacancies for SI, Constable, and Safai Karmachari posts under the Assam Police. Interested candidates can apply online from December 16, 2025, to January 16, 2026, at the Assam Policewebsite (slprbassam.in).
Applicant must be a graduate in Arts/Science/Commerce or equivalent stream from a recognized College/Institution affiliated to a recognized University.
Station Officer & Squad Commander:
B.Sc. with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from a recognized College/Institution affiliated to a recognized University.
Sub Inspector of Police Communication:
B.Sc. (Electronics Science/ IT/ Computer Science) (10+2+3 duration) or
3-year Diploma from State Polytechnic in Electronics and Tele Communication, or Electronics or Information Technology, or Instrumentation or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent with 2 years work experience in the field of Electronics, Telecom, IT or allied environment.
3-year Diploma from State Polytechnic in Electronics and Tele Communication, or Electronics or Information Technology, or Instrumentation or Computer Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent and 2 years additional course/courses in Telecommunication /IT/Computer Science/ Computer Engineering or equivalent. or
Master of Computer Application (MCA) or
B.E./B.Tech. in E & TC or Computer or Instrumentation or IT or equivalent qualification in the same discipline.
Constable (AB):
The Applicant must pass the HSLC or Equivalent examination from a recognized Board or Council.
HSLC or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or Council.
For the post of Driver Constable in Assam Police, Constable (Dispatch Rider), Constable (Messenger) & Constable (Handymen) in APRO and Driver and Driver Constable in Forest Department, the Applicant must possess a valid driving license for LMV or MMV or HMV.
For the post of Driver and Driver Operator in F & ES, the Applicant must possess a valid driving license for HMV.
Safai Karmachari:
Minimum Class VI passed from a recognized School or Institution, and the maximum qualification will be HSSLC or Class XII passed from recognized Board or Council
A Training Certificate issued by the Sector Skill Council (SSC) will carry 5 marks. or
Minimum 01 (one) year work Experience Certificate from registered NGO/Municipality Board/Govt. Departments will carry 5 marks. Registered NGOsโ registration Number must be reflected in the Certificate.
Age Limit:
Sub Inspector (UB) & Sub Inspector of Police (Communication):
The age of the Applicant must be 20-26 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants born not before 01-01-2000 and not later than 01-01-2006).
Station Officer & Squad Commander:
The age of the Applicant must be 20-24 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants born not before 01-01-2002 and not later than 01-01-2006).
Assistant Jailor:
The age of the Applicant must be 21-40 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants born not before 01-01-1986 and not later than 01-01-2005)
Sub Inspector (AB):
The age of the Applicant must be 20-24 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants born not before 01-01-2002 and not later than 01-01-2006).
Constable (AB):
The age of the Applicant must be 18-21 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants born not before 01-01-2005 and not later than 01-01-2008).
Driver Constable in Assam Police, Constable (Dispatch Rider), Constable (Messenger) & Constable (Handymen) in APRO & Driver and Driver Operator in F & ES and Driver Constable in Forest Department:
The age of the Applicant must be 18-25 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants born not before 01-01-2001 and not later than 01-01-2008).

The age of the Applicant must be 18-40 years as on 01-01-2026 (i.e., Applicants born not before 01-01-1986 and not later than 01-01-2008).
Safai Karmachari:
