Educational Qualifications:

1. Environment Expert – Qualification

Candidates should have:

  • A Master’s degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Ecology, Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Biodiversity Conservation, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in linear infrastructure projects such as roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, hill roads, slope stabilization and drainage improvement.
  • Experience with the World Bank Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) and World Bank Group EHS Guidelines.
  • Experience in environmental assessments, ESMPs, environmental monitoring and contractor environmental compliance.
  • Fluency in Assamese and English and working knowledge of local dialects of Assam.
  • Working knowledge of GIS/remote-sensing tools is required/desirable as specified in the ToR.

Salary: ₹80,000 per month.

The Environment Expert engagement is initially for 11 months, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and professional performance.

2. Social Expert – Qualification

Candidates should have:

  • A Master’s degree in Sociology, Anthropology or Social Work.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the relevant social sector.
  • Fluency in Assamese and English.
  • Working knowledge of the Dimasa language.
  • Working knowledge of computers.

The Social Experts will work on social risk management, stakeholder engagement, grievance management, land acquisition and resettlement-related activities under the project.

Salary: ₹80,000 per month.

The initial contract period is 11 months, with the possibility of extension for the duration of the project based on requirements.

3. Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Expert – Qualification

Candidates should have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management or another relevant discipline.
  • A Master’s degree/postgraduate diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Industrial Safety, Construction Safety, Disaster Risk Management or a related field is preferred.
  • Alternatively, a recognized professional qualification/certification such as a Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Industrial Safety or equivalent certification such as NEBOSH may be considered as specified in the ToR.
  • At least 8 years of experience in construction or linear infrastructure projects such as roads, highways, bridges, tunnels, viaducts, hill roads, railways or major civil works.
  • Practical knowledge of construction safety risks, including slope cutting, landslides, rockfalls, hill roads, heavy machinery and monsoon-related hazards.
  • Strong experience in safety inspections, incident investigation, OHS documentation, PPE compliance and corrective action monitoring.
  • Fluency in Assamese and English and workable knowledge of local dialects of Assam.

Salary: ₹80,000 per month.

The OHS Expert will initially be engaged for 11 months, with possible extension based on project requirements and performance.

4. Biodiversity Specialist – Qualification

Candidates should have:

  • A Master’s degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Forestry, Wildlife Management, Biodiversity Conservation or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in biodiversity assessment, conservation planning, monitoring, or related development project work.
  • Demonstrated experience with the World Bank ESF and World Bank Group EHS Guidelines.
  • Experience in World Bank-funded or other multilateral development bank projects is required/preferred as specified in the ToR.
  • Strong understanding of critical habitat assessment, biodiversity offset strategies and conservation compliance.
  • Fluency in Assamese and English and workable knowledge of local dialects of Assam.
  • Familiarity with biodiversity screening tools such as IBAT and eBird is desirable.

Salary: ₹1,00,000 per month.

The Biodiversity Specialist will initially be engaged for 11 months, with the possibility of extension based on project requirements and professional performance.
