Assam Teacher Eligibility Test 2023, Online applications are invited for the 6th Schedule Teacher Eligibility Test (TET)-2023 for Lower Primary and Upper Primary level for the 6th Schedule area districts of Assam.

Qualifications:

Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V):

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B. El. Ed) OR
  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) OR
  • Graduation and two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) obtained from any NCTE-recognized institution shall be considered for appointment as a teacher in class I to V, provided the person so appointed as the teacher will have to mandatorily undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE, within two years of such appointment as the primary teacher.
  • However, a candidate who is pursuing and having Admit Card of final year examination of any of the teacher education courses (recognized by the NCTE or the RCI, as the case may be) specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February 2011, may also apply for TET. However, he/she can apply for an appointment only after acquiring all the required qualifications.
  • Remark: Candidate admitted into 2-year D.El.Ed program before 31st August 2009: Please refer to Clause B under the subheading Relaxation.

Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII):

  • Graduation and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name known) OR
  • At least 50% marks either in Graduation or in Post Graduation and B. Ed OR
  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B. El. Ed). OR
  • Senior Secondary (or it’s equivalent) with at least 50% marks and 4-year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. Or B.A. Ed/B. Sc. Ed. OR
  • Graduation with at least 50% marks and 1-year B. Ed. (Special Education)
  • Note: Minimum percentage of marks in graduation shall not be applicable to those incumbents who had already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or an equivalent course prior to the 29th July 2011.
