RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released an indicative notification for RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 under Centralised Employment Notification (CEN) No. 05/2026. Through this recruitment drive, the Ministry of Railways intends to fill approximately 560 vacancies in various Paramedical Categories across Railway Recruitment Boards.

According to the indicative notice, eligible candidates must submit their applications online only through the official RRB application portal. The online application process is tentatively scheduled to begin on 15 September 2026, and the last date for submission is 14 October 2026 up to 11:59 PM.

Candidates should note that this is only an indicative notification. Detailed information regarding post-wise vacancies, educational qualifications, age limits, medical standards, application fees, selection procedure and other eligibility conditions will be provided in the detailed CEN No. 05/2026.

Details for RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026:

Vacancy Details:

The Railway Recruitment Boards have announced approximately 560 tentative vacancies for various posts under the Paramedical Categories.

RRB has notified 590 vacancies across nine paramedical categories. The vacancy distribution, initial pay, age range and medical standard are given below.

The post-wise and category-wise vacancy details have not yet been mentioned in the indicative notification. Candidates should wait for the detailed CEN No. 05/2026 for the complete vacancy breakup.

Educational Qualification:

Candidates must possess the prescribed educational, technical or professional qualification from a recognized institution on or before 14 October 2026. Candidates waiting for their final examination results are not eligible to apply.

Nursing Superintendent:

Candidates should possess either:

• Certificate as a Registered Nurse and Midwife after completing a 3-year General Nursing and Midwifery course from an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council; or
• B.Sc Nursing.

Candidates qualifying under certain concessions prescribed by the Indian Nursing Council are also eligible.

Dialysis Technician:

Candidates should possess:

• B.Sc degree along with a Diploma in Haemodialysis; or
• B.Sc with two years of satisfactory in-house training/experience in haemodialysis work in a reputed institution.

B.Sc in Dialysis Techniques, Dialysis Technology or Renal Dialysis Technology is also accepted.

Health & Malaria Inspector Grade II:

Candidates should have:

• B.Sc with Chemistry as a main or optional subject; and
• One-year Diploma in Health/Sanitary Inspector; or
• One-year National Trade Certificate in Health Sanitary Inspector awarded by NCVT.

Audiologist & Speech Therapist:

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology (BASLP) from a recognized university and should be registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

Pharmacist (Entry Grade):

Candidates should possess either:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy (Allopathic) from a recognized university/institute and registration as a Pharmacist under the Pharmacy Act, 1948; or
• Doctor of Pharmacy from a recognized university/institute along with registration under the Pharmacy Act, 1948.

Radiographer X-Ray Technician:

Candidates should have 10+2 with Physics and Chemistry along with a two-year Diploma in Radiography/X-Ray Technician/Radiodiagnosis Technology from a recognized institute.

Several equivalent B.Sc. and degree qualifications in radiography, medical imaging and radiation technology are also accepted.

ECG Technician:

Candidates should have 10+2 or Graduation in Science with Certificate/Diploma/Degree in ECG Laboratory Technology, Cardiology, Cardiology Technician or Cardiology Techniques from a reputed institution. The certificate course should be at least one year in duration.

Optometrist:

Candidates should possess:

• B.Sc. in Optometry; or
• Diploma in Ophthalmic Technician of 3–4 years duration.

Registration with the concerned Council/Licensing Body is also required.

Lab Assistant Grade II:

Candidates should have 12th in Science along with:

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (DMLT); or
• An equivalent Certificate Course in Medical Laboratory Technology meeting the prescribed conditions.

Candidates with 12th Science plus a Bachelor of Science in Medical Lab Technology are also eligible.

Age Limit:

The post-wise age limit ranges between 18 and 40 years, depending on the post, calculated as on 01 January 2027.

Upper-age relaxation is available as follows:

Separate relaxation provisions are available for Ex-Servicemen, eligible Railway employees and certain widowed/divorced/judicially separated female candidates. The notification states that where a candidate is eligible for relaxation on more than one ground, only the maximum applicable relaxation will be granted, rather than cumulative relaxation.

Application Fee:

The application fee is as follows.

• Candidates paying ₹500 will receive a refund of ₹400, after applicable bank charges, if they appear in the CBT.
• Candidates paying ₹250 under the concessional category will receive the applicable ₹250 refund after deduction of bank charges upon appearing in the CBT.
• Fee payment must be made online through internet banking, debit/credit cards or UPI.

Selection Process:

The recruitment process consists primarily of:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT)
2. Document Verification
3. Medical Examination

Only one online application is to be submitted by a candidate. RRB may conduct additional CBTs if considered necessary.

Candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification based on CBT merit. Candidates equal to the number of vacancies are expected to be called for document verification.

Exam Pattern:

The single-stage Computer-Based Test will consist of 100 questions for 100 marks with a duration of 90 minutes.

PwBD candidates eligible for scribe assistance will receive 120 minutes.

There will be negative marking of 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

For PwBD candidates, the qualifying percentage may be relaxed by two marks in case of shortage of candidates against reserved PwBD vacancies.

CBT Examination Languages:

The CBT will be available in English, Hindi and 13 regional Indian languages, including:

Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu.

The selected regional language and English will both be displayed during the examination.

Salary:

Selected candidates will receive salary under different pay levels of the 7th Central Pay Commission (7th CPC).

According to the notification:

Pay Scale: Pay Level 3 to Pay Level 7 under the 7th CPC

The exact pay level will depend on the paramedical post for which the candidate is selected.

Apart from basic pay, eligible employees may receive applicable allowances and benefits as per Indian Railways and Government of India rules.

How to Apply:

Applications for RRB Paramedical Recruitment 2026 must be submitted through online mode only.

Candidates can follow these steps once the application portal opens:

1. Visit the official RRB application portal at rrbapply.gov.in.
2. Open the application link for CEN No. 05/2026 – Paramedical Categories.
3. Complete the registration process using the required personal and contact details.
4. Log in with your registration credentials.
5. Fill in your educational qualification, address and other required information.
6. Select the appropriate RRB and Paramedical post as permitted under the detailed notification.
7. Upload the required photograph, signature and supporting documents.
8. Pay the applicable application fee, if required.
9. Carefully verify all information entered in the application.
10. Submit the application form before 14 October 2026 at 11:59 PM, subject to confirmation in the detailed notification.
11. Save or print the submitted application form for future reference.

Application Correction Window:

Candidates who need to modify submitted application details can use the correction window from 17 October to 26 October 2026 after paying a ₹250 non-refundable modification fee for each occasion.

However, details entered in the Create an Account form and the chosen RRB cannot be changed.
