Qualification:

Constable (Grade III) & Havildar:

H.S.L.C or equivalent examination passed from a recognized Board or Council. Other Qualification: Minimum NCC ‘A’ & ‘B’ &Certificate

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens and permanent residents. of Assam.
  • Candidates must register his/ her name with a local Employment Exchange in Assam.
  • Candidates must speak Assamese or any other State language fluently.

Platoon Commander:

The candidate must be a graduate in Arts, Science, Commerce or equivalent NCC ‘B’ Certificate OR Home Guards Training
NCC ‘B’ Certificate OR Home Guards Training Certificate.

Age Limit:

18 to 40 years as of 01-07-2022 (i.e. Candidate must be born on or before 01.07.2004 and on or after 01.07.1982).

Relaxations: Upper age limit will be relaxed for:

  • 5 (five) years in respect of candidates belonging to SC, ST (P), and ST(H).
  • 3 (three) years in respect of candidates belonging to OBC/ MOBC.

Application Fee:

There will be no application Fee.

Salary:

Havildar:

Rs. 14,000 – 60,500/- + GP 6800 (PB-2).

Constable (Grade III):

Rs. 14000 – 60500 + GP 5600 (PB-2)

Platoon Commander:

Rs. 14,000-60,500 (Pay Band No.2) and Grade pay Rs. 8700/- plus other allowances as admissible under the rules.

MEDICAL STANDARDS:

  • General: Candidates must not have squint eyes, and should possess high color vision. Varicose veins shall be considered a temporary disqualification. He/ She must be in good mental and physical health. He / She must be free from any physical deformities and free from diseases such as diabetes, hernia, piles, respiratory diseases, or any other ailment that is likely to interfere with the efficient performance of duties.
  • Eye Sight: The distant vision should be 6/ 6 for at least one eye and not poorer than 6/ 9 for the other without correction. Near vision should be normal.

SELECTION PROCEDURE:

Candidates whose applications are found correct in all respects will be called for PST & PET. The date (s) and venue (s) for the tests will be intimated in due course of time. The Chairman reserves the right to change the venue of the test and no representation etc. will be entertained in this regard.

PHYSICAL EFFICIENCY TEST:

40 Marks The Physical Efficiency Test will carry 40 marks. It will have 2 (two) events viz.

  • 1600 meters race for male candidates and 800 meters race for female candidates.
  • Long Jump – for males 335 cm (minimum) and for females 244 cm (minimum), 3 chances (longest valid jump will be considered).

Male candidates:

  • Race: Those who qualify in the PST will have to appear in 1600 meters race to be completed within 450 seconds. Maximum qualifying time 450 seconds.
  • Long Jump: Minimum 335 cm for the long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).

Female Candidates.

  • Race: Those who qualify in the PST will have to appear in 800 meters race to be completed within 240 seconds. Maximum qualifying time -240 seconds.
  • Long Jump: Minimum 244 cm for the long jump (3 chances to be given and the longest valid jump rounded off to the nearest cm will be considered for awarding marks).

WRITTEN TEST:

The written test will consist of 100 multiple-choice type questions to be answered on an OMR answer sheet. For each correct answer, the candidate will get half a mark. The total marks for the Written Test will be 50. There will be no negative marking.

The subjects to be covered will be as follows: –

  • Elementary Arithmetic
  • General English
  • Logical reasoning/ Mental ability
  • Assam’s History, Geography, Polity, Economy
  • General Awareness/ General Knowledge and current affairs The question paper for Written Exam will be in the following languages: Assamese/ Bodo/ Bengali/ English.

Written Tests will be conducted at Guwahati. The date and venue of the written test will be notified in due course.
