Educational Qualification

Candidates must possess:

• Graduate degree from a UGC-recognized University.
• Diploma/Certificate in Stenography/Shorthand from ITI/Polytechnic or any recognized institute.
• Candidates pursuing the diploma may also apply but must produce the completion certificate during document verification.
• Adequate knowledge of the Assamese language.
• Valid Employment Exchange Registration Number of Assam.

Selection Process

The selection process consists of the following stages:

Stage 1 – Stenography Test

• Voice Test (Dictation): 2 Minutes
• Shorthand Speed Test:
  • Speed: 100 words per minute
  • Dictation: 700 words
• Computer Test: 3 Minutes
• Transcription: 25 Minutes

Stage 2 – Written Examination

• Objective Type (OMR Based)
• English Language: 50 Marks
• Assamese Language: 20 Marks
• Total: 70 Marks
• Duration: 1½ Hours

Stage 3 – Viva-Voce

• 10 Marks

The final merit list will be prepared based on the marks obtained in the Stenography Test and Viva-Voce.
