The DHAS Assam Recruitment 2025 offers 54 vacancies for Supervisor & Others posts under the Directorate of Historical and Antiquarian Studies, Assam. Interested candidates can apply for the Walk-in Interview from November 21, 2025, on the DHAS website (dhas.assam.gov.in).
Bachelor’s Degree in History/Archaeology, Anthropology/Sanskrit / Assamese / Geography/ Museology or allied subjects from a recognized university with a minimum of 3 years of experience in field research, heritage documentation, or cultural project coordination. (Master’s degree will be preferred).
Documentation & Conservation Expert:
Master’s Degree in History /Sanskrit / Archaeology / Library & Information Science / Museology /Archival Studies/ Art History/Chemistry with a minimum of 3 years of experience in manuscript documentation, archival work, or cultural heritage projects. Ability to read old Assamese, Sanskrit, or Tai-Ahom and other Tai scripts.
Field Investigator:
Bachelor’s Degree in History/Sanskrit Assamese / Anthropology/Archaeology / Folklore or related disciplines. Preference will be given to candidates with prior fieldwork experience in cultural documentation or community-based research with a willingness to travel extensively across rural and remote areas.
Photographer:
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in photography, Videographer, Media Production, Visual communication or related disciplines from a recognized institution with at least 2 years of professional experience in photography/ videography, preferably in cultural, heritage, or academic documentation projects with expertise in handling DSLR cameras, lighting equipment, audio gear, and post-processing software (e.g., Adobe Lightroom, Premiere Pro, or equivalent).
Assistant Conservator/Preservator:
Master’s or Diploma degree in Conservation, Preservation, Museology, Art Conservation, Heritage Studies, Chemistry, Material Science, or Library and Information Science with specialization in conservation/preservation.
Minimum 1-3 years of practical experience in the field of conservation/preservation of manuscripts, documents, or artworks. Hands-on work with palm-leaf manuscripts, sanchi-pat, paper manuscripts, and indigenous materials preferred.
