Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates applying for the Biswanath Gaon Pradhan Recruitment 2026 must fulfil the following conditions as per Assam Government notifications dated 10/04/2018, 19/07/2019, and 26/08/2021:

1. Citizenship & Residency: The applicant must be an Indian citizen and a permanent resident of the village or group of villages for which they are applying.
2. Two-Child Norm: As per notification No. RLR.187/2007/Part/24 dated 19/07/2019, applicants must not have more than two living children. This rule does not apply to those who already had more than two children before the notification was issued, or to cases of twins.
3. Age & Educational Qualification: The applicant must be at least 30 years old as of 20/05/2026 and must have passed the Higher Secondary Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination or an equivalent exam from a board recognized by the Government of Assam, with valid certificates.
4. Physical & Mental Fitness: The applicant must be physically capable and mentally sound.
5. Financial Standing: The applicant must not be insolvent or owe any dues to the government.
6. Family Preference: Preference may be given to members of the existing Gaon Pradhan’s family, subject to the Mouzadar’s recommendation.
7. No Other Employment: The applicant must not be employed elsewhere.
8. Property Ownership: The applicant must own land or immovable property in their own name within the area for which they seek appointment.
9. Political Neutrality: The applicant must not be a member of any political party.
10. Cooperation with Government: The applicant must be willing to voluntarily cooperate with government policies, programmes, and disaster-relief efforts.
