Assam SC OBC Scholarship 2026-27: The Directorate of Welfare of Scheduled Castes and Backwards Classes, Assam, has invited online applications from eligible SC and OBC students of Assam for Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarship schemes for the academic year 2026-27.

Eligibility Criteria
For SC and OBC Pre-Matric & Post-Matric Scholarship
Students must fulfil the following eligibility conditions:
- The applicant must belong to the Scheduled Caste (SC) or Other Backward Classes (OBC) community of Assam.
- The student must be studying in the eligible class or course under the scholarship scheme.
- The annual income of parents or guardians must not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh per annum.
- The applicant must have a valid caste certificate issued by the Office of the District Commissioner of the respective district.
- The student must have a bona fide certificate from the Head of the Institution.
For SC Students of Parents/Guardians Engaged in Unclean Occupation
For this scheme:
- Students from Class I to X are eligible.
- There is no income ceiling for students whose parents or guardians are engaged in unclean occupations.
- Applicants must submit an Unclean Occupation Certificate issued by the District Social Welfare Office, local body, civic agency, or any authority designated by the State Government.
- A bona fide certificate from the Head of the Institution is required.

- Visit the official National Scholarship Portal.
- Register through the NSP OTR App available on the Google Play Store.
- Complete face authentication to generate the One Time Registration (OTR) number.
- Log in using the OTR details.
- Select the relevant scholarship scheme.
- Fill in all required personal, academic, bank and institution details.
- Upload the required documents.
- Submit the online application form.
- Take a printout or save the submitted application for future reference.
Important Instructions for Applicants
- OTR registration is mandatory for applying for the scholarship.
- Aadhaar and Aadhaar-linked mobile number are mandatory for generating OTR.
- For minor applicants without Aadhaar, the parent’s Aadhaar will be required.
