Selected candidates will receive salary as per the Assam Services (Revision of Pay) Rules, 2017.

• Pay Scale: ₹12,000 – ₹52,000
• Grade Pay: ₹3,900
• Pay Band: PB-1
• Other allowances as admissible under Government rules.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Applicants must satisfy the following educational qualifications:

• Must have passed Class VIII.
• Candidates who have passed HSSLC (Class XII) or above are NOT eligible.
• Applicants must submit a self-declaration stating that they have not passed HSSLC or any equivalent examination.
• Preference will be given to candidates having practical skills such as:
  • Driving
  • Plumbing
  • Electrical work
  • Computer knowledge
  • Technical skills
  • Horticulture or other useful hard skills

Age Limit (as on 01 January 2026)

The candidate must be an Indian Citizen as defined under Articles 5 to 8 of the Constitution of India.

Selection Process

Selection will be made through:

• Viva-Voce Interview

There will be no written examination.

How to Apply:

Eligible candidates should follow the steps below to apply offline for the Peon post:

1. Download or obtain the Standard Form of Application published in the Assam Gazette (Part-IX).
2. Fill in the application form carefully using your correct personal and educational details.
3. Attach self-attested photocopies of the following documents:
   • Age proof
   • Educational qualification certificate and mark sheet
   • Valid Employment Exchange Registration Certificate
   • Caste certificate (if applicable)
   • Self-declaration stating that you have not passed HSSLC (Class 12) or any equivalent/higher examination
   • Documents supporting special skills (if any)
4. Affix three recent passport-size photographs in the prescribed places.
5. Enclose one self-addressed envelope affixed with a ₹5 postal stamp.
6. Write “APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF PEON” clearly on the top of the envelope.
